NEW BUSINESS:
Endorsement of Sewer Commission Submission of the Final Plan to MEPA:
An informational summary relative to the draft recommended Plan and draft Environmental Impact Report, a part of the Town of Mashpee’s comprehensive planning process was submitted by GHD and reviewed by the Board of Selectmen.
The Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) is the culmination of multiple documents which includes the Final Recommended Plan (FRP) and Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) required as part of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and Cape Cod Commission (CCC) Development of Regional Impact (DRI) joint review process.
Last week, the Town of Mashpee Sewer Commission voted to approve and recommend the endorsement of the Final Plan to MEPA. It is the recommendation of Selectman Gottlieb, liaison to the Sewer Commission to recommend approval of the Final Plan to gain endorsement.
Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to endorse the recommendation of the Sewer Commission to move forward with the submission of the Final Plan to MEPA as referenced.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane.

NEW BUSINESS:
Project Purple Event Approval:
Correspondence was received from Joan Peters-Gilmartin, Secretary for Communities United for a Drug Free Environment (CUDFRE) requesting the Board of Selectmen approve the Project Purple Initiative to place purple flags for each officially reported opiate related death of Cape residents. The flags would be placed on highly visible road areas for their public education/awareness campaign to bring attention to the devastating effect of Substance Abuse.
The proposed Purple Flag Public Awareness/Education Event is planned to be held during the weekend of June 19 through the 21, 2015. With the Board’s approval CUDFRE would plant purple nylon fabric wood-stick flags, 12” x 18” at the Mashpee Rotary on the designated weekend.
Project Purple is a school based program led by students pledging not to use drugs or alcohol, and to support their peers.
Selectman Richardson, a member of the Mashpee Cares organization recommended the Board’s approval of this worthwhile campaign. The Town is requested to contribute $800 to support upfront costs associated to this endeavor. Monies are anticipated to be reimbursed to the Town of Mashpee.
Motion made by Selectman Sherman to support the Project Purple Event on the weekend of June 19-21, 2015 as referenced.

NEW BUSINESS:
Town Meeting Warrant Review with Finance Committee & Town Moderator:
The Board of Selectmen met prior to the Annual Town Meeting for the purpose of reviewing matters associated to the Town Meeting Warrant.
Town Counsel Patrick Costello was in attendance as was members of the Mashpee Finance Committee. There were no changes to the warrant. The Town Manager recommended the Board move forward with the warrant as planned.

Citation Presentation:
Sue Rohrbach, District Director was in attendance representing Senator Daniel Wolfe’s Office to present an Official Citation to Selectman Wayne Taylor for his dedicated service to the Town of Mashpee. Selectman Taylor has served the Town of Mashpee as a Selectmen member for the past seventeen years.
Adjournment:
Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to adjourn at 6:10 p.m.
